The event gathered over 200 participants, with many historical riders of the Brand, several activities and paid tributes throughout the day.
On Saturday, 30th April, time suddenly stopped at the Bassella experiences facilities to celebrate one of its most vintage events: the "Bultaco Day". An endearing party, which brought together various official riders from the old days and a large number of fans who remembered the best years of the mythical Brand of the rampant finger.
The spectacular central paddock, displaying more than 100 Bultaco models, of all specialties, which rolled simultaneously through the different circuits and tracks set up within the enclosure: motocross, off-road routes, trial areas, road routes,... even a moto-gymkhana to test the skill of the participants and a dirt-track exhibition carried out by Juan and Rocío Bultó.
The start of the 4th "Alpinada" caught the attention of all attendees, with a total of twenty five impeccable Alpina bikes ready to complete a beautiful 20 km trail route. An act that had important honour participants: Rafael Puig Bultó, the only surviving rider of the 1973 Himalayan expedition and relatives of the other five expeditionaries who accompanied him who also received a beautiful souvenir to commemorate this great heroic deed.
Alberto Nomen, the only living survivor of the Bultaco founders, Ricardo Quintanilla, member of the "Cazarecords" team and racing rider in the first days of Bultaco as well as Oriol Puig Bultó undoubtedly became the top stars of the day, signing autographs and softly chatting with all the attendees and fans throughout the event.
One of the most exciting moments of the day was the presentation of the four original bikes of the 1970 ISDT team, whose members reunited again after 52 years. Two of said bikes were recovered by the Bultaco Club and the other two were lent by the collector Antoni Lleó.
Riders Jorge Capapey, Casimiro Verdaguer and Narcís Casas, shared their memories and experiences of that mythical race and the son of Fernando Muñoz represented his father in the family photo to reproduce the image of the four team members. Oriol Puig Bultó, Emilio Bosser and Estanislao Soler, as team manager, also enjoyed narrating some anecdotes and funny tales of those years.
In short, a great party full of reunions, memories, anecdotes and plenty of passion for motorcycles and Bultaco in particular that brought together more than 200 people from all over the country also from several parts of France and Italy.
