Mythical motocross riders run into the past of the speciality

Basolí, Elizalde, Sánchez, Gris, Capapey, Olivencia, Mendívil, Sainz, Elias, Cases ... were some of the many legendary motocross pilots who do not want to miss this event. A meeting, led by Pere Pi and Oriol Puig Bultó with the invaluable assistance of Motorcycle Museum, which met a total of 80 representative figures of the speciality, from 1955-1974.

The event was held at the headquarters of Motorcycle Museum Barcelona last Saturday May 2nd. Laughs, hugs, excitement and many conversations about the past already early in the morning. Great rivals at the time, but also good friends who shared wonderful years of Spanish motorcycling. 

The day continued in La Masia de Martorell restaurant, were the riders explained different stories and truggles of those early races.

The main characters

Not only the pilots were the main characters of the day. Also their bikes, which were exhibited at the restaurant lended by different collectors (Pere Molina, Fernando de Portugal, Ton Costa, Luis Lozano, ...). They themselves were responsible for explaining its bikes' main features: The Montesa Brio 110 from 1960 with which Pere Pi won his first Spanish Championship , a mythical Bultaco Sherpa S, OSSA from 1958 with which Oriol Puig Bultó participated in his first Six Days,  Sanglas of Raja and Maseras, or Guzzi that was used to develop the first bike of Jose Sanchez, among others.
