About Us
It is the culmination of a project which came to light in the first half of the past century, as a result of the work done by Mario Soler.
The Motorcycle Museum Private Foundation Mario Soler is a non-profit entity that works in order to promote the motorcycle values, its responsible and sustainable use and disseminate its past, present and future from multiple perspectives (social, economic, industrial, sport, leisure, urban, etc.).
It was created in 2010 by the Soler Family that gives continuity to the task performed by Mario Soler (1907-1991), a devoted motorbike and mechanics fan, who for many years, in his small workshop in Bassella (Lleida), with his hands and talent, recovered a great number of motorcycles. Thanks to this effort, he became a reputable restorer and one of the first collectors in Spain.
This institution currently manages a collection of over 300 motorbikes and a specialized museum: Bassella Motorcycle Museum (opened in 2002). Additionally, it perfoms temporary exhibitions and motor events all around the country.

Goals
Claiming the importance of ancient vehicles as cultural heritage working together with different national and international federations: FEVA, FIVA and UNESCO.
Acting as an educational platform to promote the motorcycle values and its responsible, civilized and sustainable use (road-safety education, conferences, symposium,...).
Temporary exhibition set-up in order to disseminate the motorcycle from multiple perspectives (social, economic, industrial, sport, leisure, urban, etc.).
Offering support to new projects and interesting initiatives connected to motorcycling.
Promote environment consciousness between all motorcyclists through the cooperation in different projects and iniciatives in this sector.
Edition and publication of surveys or books about the world of motorcycling in Catalonia and Spain.
Collaboration to produce a detailed catalogue of historical vehicles as well as offering professional advice in subjects such as refurbishing and reconstruction.
Development of didactic material for children and students to reveal the industrial past of motorcycling and the history of this means of transport.
